		<description>Born in 11th Jan.1945, in Dhenkanal, S.S.Singh Deo is the eldest son of Late Rajkumar Gourendra Pratap Singh Deo of Dhenkanal and is happily married to Jayashree, youngest daughter of Late Raja Narsingha Malla Deb of Jhargram, Dist. Midnapur, West Bengal. Blessed with two daughters Shailashree and Sushree both being married. 
 
Mr. S.S. Singh Deo did his B.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry from Ravenshaw College, Cuttack, and thereafter did his B.Tech (Hons) in Metallurgical Engineering from I.I.T., Kharagpur in the year 1968. He then proceeded to U.S.A. &amp; came back to India after completing M.S. in Materials Engineering from University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. While pursuing his undergraduate studies, he was recipient of various scholarships, including Atomic Energy Scholarship of Govt. of India. At University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was a recipient of graduate research assistantship. 
 
He was the promoter of Ipisteel Limited, the first Mini-steel plant in Orissa. He was its Managing Director from 1983 to 1992 and thereafter became its Vice-Chairman until 1999, when he relinquished the post. Subsequently he shifted to educational line and set up an Engineering College named Synergy Institute of Engineering and Technology at Dhenkanal, Orissa, in the year 1999 &amp; was its Chairman &amp; Managing Trustee for five years.  
 
He was a good badminton and table tennis player &amp; represented his colleges in inter-college tournaments. During his professional career, he also took active part in various other activities. He was a President of Rotary Club of Cuttack, President of Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Honorary Secretary of Orissa Small Scale Industry Association, Honorary Secretary of Orissa Productivity Council. He is a Fellow of Institution of Engineers (FIE) &amp; also a Chartered Engineer. 
 
                                     Presently, he is a member of the Governing Body of Synergy Institute of Engineering &amp; Technology, Dhenkanal, affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology. He is now leading a retired life &amp; pursuing his hobbies like dabbling in the share market and playing badminton and is currently residing at &#8220;Shailashree&#8221;, Mahanadi Road, Tulsipur, Cuttack-753008, Odisha
